Albert John Roberts is a Fort Worth native, father, husband and attorney in the State of Texas with a long burning desire to be an advocate for justice. He has worked in the legal field in local, state and federal capacities for over a decade.
Albert earned his Bachelors of Science from Prairie View A&M University and his Jurisdoctorate from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. He passed the Texas Bar Exam in 2009.
As a young person growing up on the East side of Fort Worth, Albert and his family interfaced with the justice system first hand, an incident that separated he and his siblings from their mother and grandmother for years. His experiences fuel his passion for ensuring that justice is fair, smart and accountable to all who come in contact with the system.
In 2010, Albert joined the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted everything from traffic tickets to murder offenses under the administrations of both Craig Watkins and Susan Hawk. In 2011 Albert was awarded Prosecutor of the Year in Dallas County resulting in his quick promotion to the felony division. During his tenure in Dallas, Albert tried countless jury trials and was assigned to the Felony Family Violence division. In January 2016, Albert was brought on to work for the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office under your current District Attorney and has prosecuted numerous cases in Tarrant County. In 2017 Albert founded Scott & Roberts Law Firm, PLLC, a private law firm where he primarily practices criminal defense.
In addition to his years of prosecuting experience and awards in North Texas, Albert has served in professional legal organizations in multiple capacities including as the President of the L. Clifford Davis Legal Association (Tarrant County Black Bar Association). Albert currently serves on the Executive Board of the organization and as a member of the National Bar Association and the Tarrant County Bar Association.
Albert believes the citizens of Tarrant County deserve a District Attorney who will ensure that justice is served, ensure that justice is fair, and ensure that justice is smart and accountable. For too long, Tarrant County residents have had to settle for a justice system that is out of touch with its citizens. Albert will work to restore faith in our justice system to ensure that each person who comes in contact with the system is treated fairly and that everyone in Tarrant County is held accountable for their actions. Albert will be smart on crime and ensure that those affected by the justice system are dealt with in the most effective and efficient manner.
Albert is the oldest son of Nancy and Albert Sr., the proud husband of Dr. Keonna Roberts and equally proud father of Albert III and Karrington.
